Uncertain Family

The wife of Jan Solomonsz Terwilliger may have been Jacomyntjen Frederiks Vandermark (1721).

Biography

Jacomyntje was born (according to her marriage record) in Marbletown, Ulster County, New York. Recorded as Jacomyntjen, she was baptized by a domine of the Reformed Dutch Church of Kingson, New York, on 11 March 1722, entered in the record as the child of Augustynus Van der Merke and Annetjen Schot.[1]

She was residing in Hurley, Ulster County, in 1745 when she married Jan Terwilge (Terwilliger), native of Hurley who was living at Walkill (in Orange County, New York). They married on 6 or 7 July 1745 after registering banns on 9 June.

She Joined the New Paltz Church on April 19, 1751, on confession of faith.[2]
